Homework Research Task for Summer

For your first homework assignment you are to conduct some research into the forms and conventions of related media products.

1. You are to upload examples of:

• film posters to thinglink
• youtube links to trailers to your blog
• front cover of a movie magazine and DVD front cover to padlet

Wherever possible try to get these products to relate to the same film.

2. You then need to identify the conventions to each of these forms and products in as much detail as possible using correct media terminology.  You will need to refer to the following;

• media language
• camera
• sound
• editing
• mise-en-scene
• representation

3. Comment upon how effective the combination of these products are together.  
Consider these questions:
How and why do these products combine/ link together?  
What links do they have in common? 
Why do they have these links in common? 
What purpose does the combination of products serve?  
Who benefits from this combination of products and why?
